Bitcoin Resources

Here is a list of websites, papers, articles, books, courses, and podcasts that have helped me to understand Bitcoin.

Websites & Articles

  • The White Paper

    (The Bitcoin White Paper)

  • Nakamoto Institute

(A rabbit hole filled with original emails & posts from Satoshi, historical literature, skeptical articles on Bitcoin, and so much more!)

  • Bitcoin Core

(Open source. Maintains and releases the client software client called Bitcoin Core.)

  • GitHub

    (Developer platform)

  • A Cypherpunk’s Manifesto (Eric Hughes)

    (Privacy vs. secrecy)

  • Satoshi’s Journal

(A journal by plebs, for plebs. Read Bitcoin stories from ordinary people all over the world. Earn 25,000 satoshis for sharing your story!)

  • 21 Lessons (by Gigi)

(21 lessons that most of us learn when we fall down the rabbit hole! Buy the book or read online.)

  • Bitcoin Wisdom for Busy People

(Available in English and traditional Chinese. As the title suggests, this website is a great resource for busy people who’d like to understand Bitcoin.)

  • The Bullish Case for Bitcoin (Vijay Boyapati)

(Non technical. This article addresses the questions of: What is money? What makes a better money? It thoroughly compares bitcoin to gold and fiat.)

  • Programming Bitcoin (Jimmy Song)

(Jimmy Song is a Bitcoin developer, educator and entrepreneur. He is also a Christian providing open takes on Bitcoin from a Christian perspective.)

  • Hope.com (Microstrategy, Michael Saylor)

(Bitcoin news, interviews and education with a focus on business.)

  • Microstrategy: Bitcoin Initiative Playbook

(Thinking of adding bitcoin to your company’s balance sheet? Take a look at Microstrategy’s project roadmap, which includes legal & tax considerations.)

  • Zoltan Pozsar: We are witnessing the birth of a new world monetary order (Zoltan Pozsar, Credit Suisse)

(An argument that in 2022, “we are witnessing the birth of Bretton Woods III”, a new monetary order. The Eurodollar system will be weakened due to currencies in the East being backed by commodities. This shift will contribute to inflationary forces in the West.)

  • Security and Exchange Commission v. LBRY, Inc.

(Ever wondered why Bitcoin “Maxis” say ‘Bitcoin, not crypto’? Part of the reason is that tokens issued by companies are essentially unregistered securities. (If there’s a founder, roadmap, marketing, etc., it’s probably a security.) In the November 2022 ruling against LBRY, a blockchain-based file sharing platform that issued its own token, United States District Judge Paul J. Barabadoro ruled that LBRY violated securities laws. Can Bitcoin face such a ruling? NO. There is no single issuer of bitcoin. This ruling likely sets a precent for other “crypto” projects.)
